This off season I will be keeping focused on three main weaknesses within my training and racing.
First and foremost improving my swimming. While I am not a horrible swimmer, I am far from efficient thus this off season I will be focusing on swimming.
Second strength training for continued improvement of both core and leg strength in areas of stability and flexibility.
Finally and possibly the most important is becoming comfortable with a new running style. Achieving this through a better running technique, for instance a more efficient stride coupled with a run walk strategy.
Now I’m not sure how to work these minor goals into the bigger goal of completing a successful 2014 race season with new friends and family. I believe once I establish the race wish list for the year and elect races that work with my schedule and family achieving these goals will be easier than this post is making it sound.
Getting started included this swim workout
